Last checked: October 2026 — every price below was read on the vendor’s own page on 24 Oct 2026
Expect to pay about $110 per episode for audio-only podcast editing and about $230 for video editing, at the median of the vendors that publish prices. Of 41 podcast editing and production vendors we checked on 24 Oct 2026, 21 publish usable prices. Full production retainers start far higher: the median vendor’s cheapest monthly production plan is $2,250.
We read the live pricing pages of 21 vendors, saved 76 price points with a verbatim quote and source link for each, and published the full table below. Audio-only editing entry prices run $45 to $675 per episode (n = 7 vendors), video editing $70 to $350 (n = 5), and full-service production retainers $1,990 to $5,500 per month (n = 7). 20 of the 41 vendors do not publish a price at all, which is itself the main finding for anyone budgeting a podcast.
Podcast editing is priced three different ways: per episode, per month, and per project. That makes quotes hard to compare, so most buyers either overpay or give up and ask for a call. This index puts the published prices on one page, converts them to a per-episode figure only where the vendor states how many episodes a plan covers, and links every row to the page it came from. It is written for B2B founders and marketing leads who run a podcast and want to know what a fair budget looks like before they talk to a video editing agency.
It is the dataset behind our guides, not another guide. For ranked vendor profiles read best podcast video editing services and top podcast production companies for B2B teams; for how to choose an agency read how to choose a B2B podcast agency. For general video editing prices see the video editing pricing survey, which covers video agencies rather than podcast vendors.
Method, sample and disclosure
Date and sample. All prices were read between 21:30 and 22:00 Dubai time on 24 Oct 2026 from each vendor’s own public website. We started from 41 podcast editing and production vendors found on directories and in our own earlier research. 21 publish at least one usable price (n = 21); 20 do not. The title says 21 because that is the true count of vendors with prices, not the number we hoped to find.
Inclusion rule. A vendor is in the priced sample if its own page states a USD figure for podcast editing or production. We recorded the plan name, the price, the unit and a verbatim quote, and kept the source URL for every row. Derived figures (price divided by the episodes the page says a plan includes) are marked “calc.”; where the vendor states a per-episode price it is marked “stated”. Per-minute prices, one-time launch programs and clip-only packages are shown in the table but kept out of the per-episode statistics.
Excluded. We dropped general video editing vendors with no podcast-specific plan (VidChops, Video Husky, Edit Crew, Tasty Edits, Motion Edits), software-only tools, marketplaces we could not read (Fiverr, Guru) and vendors whose site no longer exists or could not be reached. Third-party listicle prices were not used.
📋 Disclosure: This guide is published by Increditors, a video editing agency, and includes our own services. Increditors and videoeditingcompany.com (which describes itself as a division of Increditors) are not part of the statistics. Increditors quotes projects individually and does not publish prices, so it is not in the priced sample. Video Editing Company’s published plans are included as a vendor, with that relationship disclosed.
The headline numbers
The table below is calculated from the dataset. For each vendor we took its cheapest published plan in each category, so that a vendor with six plans counts once. “n” is the number of vendors, not price points.
Three things follow. First, the spread inside each category is wide: the cheapest audio-only editor charges $45 per episode and the dearest charges $675, a 15x gap for what is often the same deliverable of cleaned, levelled audio. Second, video adds roughly 60% to 120% to the audio price at vendors that list both (PodEdit.com $45 to $70, Next Day Podcast $160 to $300, Podcast Engineers $395 to $850 a month). Third, full production is a different product: strategy, guest booking, editing, clips and distribution, priced as a retainer and not per episode.
Chart 1: entry price per episode
Source: vendor pricing pages listed in the dataset below, read 24 Oct 2026. Per-episode figures are as stated by the vendor or calculated from the episodes a plan includes.
Chart 2: monthly production plans
Source: vendor pricing pages listed in the dataset below, read 24 Oct 2026. Excludes one-time launch programs and per-project ranges.
Monthly plans cluster in the low-to-mid thousands. The cheapest published full-production plan is $1,990 a month and the dearest entry plan is $5,500. Higher tiers on the same pages go much further, to $7,500 or more a month at several vendors, which is the budget zone where a podcast is run as a pipeline channel rather than a content hobby.

Audio, video and full production
Audio-only editing
Specialist audio editors price per episode or per audio minute. Barevalue publishes the only per-minute rate we found, $1.79 per audio minute, with an extra $0.50 a minute for two-day turnaround; a 45-minute raw episode would therefore cost $80.55 (our calculation). Podcast Engineers, ScrubCast and Next Day Podcast sell monthly bundles that bring the effective per-episode price down, for example Next Day Podcast’s $480 a month for unlimited audio episodes for one show (stated on its page).
Video podcast editing
Video editing is where prices diverge most. We Edit Podcasts lists $230 and $550 per episode for Basic and Premium video editing; Next Day Podcast lists $300 per video episode; Podcast Fast Track lists $350 for a full-length video edit. Dedicated-editor models such as Vidpros price time instead: $1,000 a month for two hours a day or $4,000 for a full-time editor. For the economics of that model see our Vidpros review.
Full production retainers
Retainers bundle editing with strategy, guest booking, clips and distribution. Published entry plans include Pro Podcast Solutions at $1,995 a month, We Edit Podcasts at $1,990 for up to four episodes, Resonate Recordings from $2,100, Fame at $2,250 (editing and production only) and Podigy at $2,500. These buy outcomes beyond editing, which is why they sit in a separate category. If your goal is turning episodes into pipeline, read our podcast clip strategy and podcast to YouTube agency guides.
💡 Pro Tip: Compare on cost per finished episode with the same deliverables, not on headline price. A $49 audio edit and a $2,250 production retainer are different products; the useful question is what each includes and how many episodes you publish a month.
The vendors that do not publish prices
20 of the 41 vendors we checked publish no usable price. Most say “custom quote”, “book a call” or “pricing is all custom per job”. That is normal for agency services, and it is the main reason this index exists.
The full dataset
Every price point we recorded, in vendor order, with its source link. The table has 76 rows from 21 vendors; 68 rows feed the statistics and the rest are shown for completeness (add-ons, promotions, clip packs, per-minute rates). “Calc.” means we divided the price by the episodes the page says the plan includes.
Upwork rows are the ranges printed on its podcast-editor hiring page, not vendor quotes. Fame prices are shown as printed, ex. VAT.
How to use these numbers
- Pick the category first. Audio cleanup, video editing and full production are different budgets; compare inside one category only.
- Write down deliverables. Episodes per month, length, number of clips, show notes, turnaround. The same scope is what makes two quotes comparable.
- Use the median as a sanity check, not a target. A quote far below the range deserves a question about who does the work; far above, about what is bundled.
- Ask for the scope in writing from three vendors. If you want to compare a quote from us, book a call and we will scope it against these ranges. Our case studies, including the TuMeke project, show what delivered work looks like.
Increditors has delivered 1,700+ videos for 340+ clients and holds a 5.0 rating from 12 reviews on Clutch. That is our own record, not part of this data.
Limitations
This is a snapshot of 21 vendors on one day, not a market census. Vendors that hide prices are, by definition, missing from the statistics, and they are probably the more expensive end of the market. Many vendors list “starting at” prices or change them without notice; page prices are not final quotes and exclude add-ons, taxes and custom work. Per-episode figures depend on the episode length each page assumes, which we could not always see, and derived figures assume the page’s stated episode count. Vendors were found through directories and our own earlier research, so well-known vendors with no online presence are missed. Medians use one entry price per vendor and small samples (n = 5 to 7 per category), so treat them as orientation, not a benchmark. We will re-check the table quarterly.
FAQ
How much does podcast editing cost per episode?
Among vendors that publish prices (24 Oct 2026), audio-only editing starts at a median of $110 per episode and ranges from $45 to $675. Video podcast editing starts at a median of $230. Full production retainers work out much higher per episode because they include strategy, clips and distribution.
How much does a podcast production agency cost per month?
The cheapest published monthly production plans run from $1,990 to $5,500 a month, median $2,250 (n = 7 vendors). Top tiers at several vendors reach $7,500 or more a month.
Why do so many podcast editors not publish prices?
20 of the 41 vendors we checked publish no price. Agencies usually quote by scope: episode count, length, clips and strategy. That makes them harder to compare, so buyers should ask each for a written scope and a fixed monthly price.
Is it cheaper to hire a freelancer for podcast editing?
Marketplace pages show lower figures. Upwork’s podcast editor hiring page lists $20 to $31 per hour and $200 to $500 for a full episode edit with intro and outro. Freelancers trade price for less process, backup and clip support, so compare deliverables.
How was this index built?
We read each vendor’s own public pricing page on 24 Oct 2026, saved the price with a verbatim quote and a source link, and calculated per-episode figures only where the page states the episode count. Vendors with no published price are listed separately.
Does Increditors publish podcast editing prices?
No. Increditors quotes projects individually, so it is not in the priced sample or any statistic. You can book a discovery call and we will scope your episodes against the ranges in this index.
