The index in one table
Pricing pages quote a monthly fee for a bundle of videos, not a price per minute. This index divides each published price by the finished minutes it buys, for 17 plans from 7 vendors, with the formula and source for every row. It is the cross-vendor companion to our YouTube video editing cost per video guide, which explains what drives a per-video quote, and to cost per finished minute, which sets out illustrative benchmark ranges by production type. This page differs from both: every figure is a vendor-published price, read on one day and normalised the same way.
Index = price / finished minutes (10-minute reference video, 1 minute per short). n = 17; read 25 Oct 2026. Upwork prices projects as ranges and is in the long-form table instead.

Price / finished minutes bought, from prices read on 25 Oct 2026. VEC = Video Editing Company, a division of Increditors. Inputs are in the table below.
📌 Reading the chart: Credit and light-subscription plans sit between $9 and $32.70 per finished minute, one dedicated-team plan ($62.50) sits above them, and the other retainers, which bundle a project manager and senior editors, sit at $139.13 to $172.41. The plans are not selling the same thing, so compare what is included before the number.
How we built the index
Sample. On 25 Oct 2026 we opened each vendor’s live pricing page and copied the price, unit and the video count or hours stated. 7 vendors had plans we could convert to finished minutes: Tasty Edits, Video Husky, VidChops, VeedYou, Motion Edits, Increditors and Video Editing Company. Upwork, Edit Crew and Vidpros supply project ranges and hourly figures. Upwork was read in a browser because it blocks scripts.
Inclusion rule. A plan is in if the page shows a price and a video count or finished length. Plans billed by unlimited requests or custom quote are out and listed below.
Formula. Long-form: dollars per finished minute = price / (long-form videos x 10 reference minutes + short-form videos x 1 minute). Where a vendor states a length range we also show the result at its shortest and longest length; where none is stated we assume 5 to 15 minutes. Short-form: price / shorts covered, at 60 seconds. Hours: monthly price / (weekly hours x 52 / 12).
Not done. No currency conversion or quality scoring. “Up to” counts are treated as the volume you buy.
📌 How we picked and disclosure: Criteria: a published price, a stated video count or length, and a source link per row. Sample: n = 17 index plans plus 29 supporting rows. Data date: 25 Oct 2026. This guide is published by Increditors, a video editing agency, and includes our own services: Increditors and Video Editing Company (a division of Increditors) are rows in the data and are shown with the figures their own pages state, on the same formula as everyone else.
Long-form: every plan, normalised
The index column uses the 10-minute reference; the range column shows the result at the lengths each vendor states. Upwork rows are project ranges with a stated finished length, so they have no single index value.
All rows read on 25 Oct 2026. “n/a” = priced for 20 to 90 minute videos. Mixed plans count each short as 1 finished minute; Motion Edits counts are “up to” maximums.

Two patterns stand out. The same pricing model clusters tightly: the five credit and per-video plans span $9 to $32.70, and the seven light subscriptions span $12.38 to $20.81. Volume lowers the number inside a vendor: Tasty Edits drops from $32.70 on a single video to $27.80 in an eight-video pack, and Motion Edits from $20.81 to $14.92 between its smallest and largest retainer.
Video Editing Company shows the same effect at the top of the market: $172.41 on the Growth plan down to $139.13 on Scale. Its page lists a senior editor and shared PM on Growth, and two senior editors, a junior editor, a PM and a creative director on Scale.
How video length changes the number
The index assumes a 10-minute finished video. The table recomputes five plans at 5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes so you can read off your own case.
Published price / (videos x minutes per video). Tasty Edits and Video Husky are per video; the others are monthly.
Length moves per-video plans a lot: Tasty Edits Explore is $65.40 per minute at 5 minutes and $16.35 at 20. VidChops states one credit covers 5 to 60 minutes, so $495 a month buys between $2.06 and $24.75 per minute depending on what you upload.
Short-form: what a Short costs
Short-form is priced per video or bundle, so the unit is dollars per short, at a 60-second reference (Video Husky caps a Short at 1 minute). 8 plans give $30.94 to $94 per short, median $53.95.
Read 25 Oct 2026. Per-minute equals the per-short figure at 60 seconds and doubles at 30 seconds.
Per minute, shorts cost more than long-form ($53.95 against $20.81) because hook, caption and export work covers less runtime. Bundles help: VidChops Weekly is $30.94 per short if all four credits go on short-form, against $94 for a single Tasty Edits vertical video.
Hourly plans: cost per editor hour
Some plans sell editor time, not videos. Edit Crew, Vidpros and Motion Edits state hours; Upwork states hourly medians. The 7 plans with stated hours work out to $13.70 to $24.60 per editor hour, median $23.08.
Read 25 Oct 2026. Hours per month = weekly hours x 52 / 12. Upwork states $6 to $25 an hour as a headline and $10 to $60 on its hiring page; tier medians are from the cost page.

Monthly price / (weekly hours x 52 / 12); Upwork bars are stated medians. Read 25 Oct 2026.
To turn an hourly rate into a cost per finished minute, multiply by the editor hours one finished minute takes in your footage. At 2 hours per finished minute (a scenario, not a measurement), Edit Crew Essentials works out at $49.20 per minute and about 32.5 finished minutes a month; a $40 Upwork editor at $80.
⚠️ Hours are capacity, not output: Edit Crew states that hours reset weekly and do not roll over, so a light week still costs the full amount. If footage arrives unevenly, a credit plan that bills for what you use can cost less despite a higher hourly rate.
What the index means for a real budget
A concrete case: a marketing team publishing four 10-minute YouTube videos a month, or 40 finished minutes, priced on each route from the published figures above.
Arithmetic on prices read 25 Oct 2026. Upwork figures are budgets for one 10 to 20 minute video each; other rows use the 10-minute reference. Revisions, thumbnails and turnaround are not priced here.
The same four videos cost $360 a month on credits and $6,000 on a dedicated-team plan, a 16.7 times difference. Credits and light subscriptions buy edited footage at a low unit price; the retainers at the top buy a team around the same footage. Our pricing survey of 30 agencies, the video editing cost guide and the subscription comparison cover the agency end and plan types.
What we left out, and the limits
Some pages could not be turned into a number. These were read but kept out of the index.
All read 25 Oct 2026. Increditors figures are the ones our own YouTube page states.
Limitations
- Sample size. 17 plans from 7 vendors is a snapshot of vendors that publish prices; per-project agencies are under-represented.
- Assumed lengths. Tasty Edits, Motion Edits and Increditors state no finished length for long-form, so we assumed 5 to 15 minutes.
- Capacity versus use. Monthly plans are priced at the volume stated; unused capacity raises the real cost per minute.
- Price is not quality. The index scores no quality, revisions, turnaround or strategy.
✅ Use it like this: Divide your real quote by your real finished minutes and compare it with the band for that pricing model. For a vendor shortlist rather than a price benchmark, see our ranked list of best video editing services for YouTube.
Where Increditors and Video Editing Company sit
Increditors is a video editing agency that edits YouTube and B2B video for founders and marketing teams. Its YouTube page publishes the Creators plan at $2,500 a month and the Startups plan at $6K, each for 4 videos, which give the $62.50 and $150 index values. Both sit in the upper half of the table, and we left them there rather than choosing a more flattering length. The Startups plan lists a dedicated project manager, motion graphics and unlimited revisions.

FAQ
How much does YouTube video editing cost per minute in 2026?
Across 17 plans from 7 vendors, read on 25 Oct 2026 and priced against a 10-minute reference video, the median is $20.81 per finished minute. Credit and light-subscription plans run $9 to $32.70, and dedicated-team plans run $62.50 to $172.41. Upwork states $500 to $1,500 for one 10 to 20 minute video, or $25 to $150 per minute.
How do you convert a per-video or monthly price into cost per finished minute?
Divide the price by the finished minutes it buys: monthly price / (long-form videos x 10 reference minutes + short-form videos x 1 minute). VidChops Weekly is $495 for 4 long-form credits, so $495 / (4 x 10) = $12.38 per finished minute.
Why does one plan cost $9 per minute and another $150 or more?
The plans bundle different things. Video Husky credits state up to 2 revisions and no project files, while our Startups plan lists a dedicated project manager, motion graphics and unlimited revisions. Unused capacity also raises the real cost, and the index does not score quality.
How much does a YouTube video editor cost per hour?
Plans that state hours work out to $13.70 to $24.60 per editor hour (Edit Crew, Vidpros and Motion Edits). Upwork states median rates of $10 an hour at entry tier, $40 at mid tier and $100 at senior tier.
How much does editing a YouTube Short cost?
Plans priced by the video work out to $30.94 to $94 per short at a 60-second reference, median $53.95 across 8 plans. Video Husky charges $45 per short of up to 1 minute.
Is cost per minute the right way to buy YouTube editing?
Use it to compare quotes, not to set the budget. Video Editing Company makes the same point on its cost-per-minute page: setup and delivery are fixed costs, so longer videos cost less per minute but more in total. Confirm that a vendor counts finished minutes, not raw footage, and how many revisions are included.
