Video Editing Turnaround Benchmark 2026: 22 Vendors

Stopwatch beside three film strips in purple, cyan and yellow on a dark background

Last checked: October 2026 (every turnaround statement read on 25 Oct 2026). Published by Increditors, a video editing agency, and includes our own services.

Short answer

Across 22 vendors read on 25 Oct 2026, the median stated turnaround ceiling for editing plans is 2 days (14 of 25 offers promise 2 days or less). Full-time dedicated editors state about 1 day; produced video and animation projects state about 6 weeks. Stated, not measured.

TL;DR

This is a dated dataset of what 22 vendors promise on their own pages: 36 offers, one source link per row. The pattern is simple. Shared-editor plans cluster at 1 to 3 days, full-time editors at same day to 1 day, retainer-style B2B teams at 3 to 7 days, and produced video in weeks. No Increditors project data is used, and every limit is spelled out below.

What the stated numbers say

Every “how fast is video editing” page quotes a range and stops there. This benchmark does the opposite: it lists 36 offers from 22 vendors, copies the turnaround sentence each one publishes, converts it to days so the offers can be compared, and links the page it came from. It sits next to our guide to video editing turnaround times, which explains what to expect and what slows an edit down. That guide is advice; this page is the underlying dataset, the whole market in one table, with the medians and their n. If you are pricing as well as timing, our video editing pricing survey covers the money side.

The segment table below is the headline. The unit is an offer (a plan, tier or service line), not a vendor, because one vendor often states different times for short-form, long-form and full-time plans.

Segment Offers (n) Vendors Median stated upper bound Fastest stated Slowest stated
Short-form (under 90 seconds) 6 5 2 days Tasty Edits (1 day) ContentBeta (4 to 5 days)
Editing subscription (long-form) 16 12 2.5 days Vidpros (1 day) Motion Edits (3 to 7 days)
Dedicated full-time editor 3 3 1 days Edit Crew (1 day) Video Husky (1 to 3 days)
Creative subscription (design + video) 3 3 1 days Flocksy (0 to 1 days) Videodeck (2 days)
Podcast and micro-content 2 2 4 days We Edit Podcasts (3 days) Kometmedia (3 to 5 days)
Produced video and animation (project) 6 6 43.5 days (about 6 weeks) ContentBeta (8 to 10 days) Epipheo (4 wk to 16 wk)

Median stated upper bound = the slower end of each offer’s own range, then the median across offers in the segment. Vendor pages read 25 Oct 2026. Business days are counted as days; weeks are multiplied by 7.

⏱️ The headline number: Editing plans (short-form, long-form and dedicated, n=25 offers from 13 vendors) state a median upper bound of 2 days. 14 of 25 state 2 days or less and 19 of 25 state 3 days or less. Produced video and animation projects (n=6) state a median of 43.5 days, about 6 weeks.

How we built the benchmark

Sample. We started from every editing, creative-subscription and video-production vendor we already track for our pricing and vendor guides, then added vendors we checked for this benchmark because they sell fast, queue-based editing (Penji and Kimp). For each vendor we opened the live public pricing or service page with a normal browser request on 25 Oct 2026 and copied the sentence that states a turnaround. 22 vendors and 36 offers had a stated figure; those are the dataset.

Inclusion rule. A vendor is in if its own page states a turnaround in hours, days or weeks for a named plan or service. A vendor is out if it states none, if the figure is behind a login or a sales call, or if the product is editing software rather than a service. Five vendors we read had no usable figure: Superside, Fame, Podigy, Vidico, Design Pickle. They are not in any median.

Conversion. We keep the vendor’s words in the table and add two numbers: the low and the high end of the stated range, in days. “24 Hour Turnaround” is 1 and 1. “1-2 Business Day Turnaround” is 1 and 2. “Same day” and “overnight” count as 1 day in the upper-bound statistics. “4 to 6 weeks” is 28 and 42. We do not convert business days to calendar days, because most vendors do not say which they mean.

What is not in it. No measured delivery times, no mystery-shopping, no client survey and no Increditors project export. A stated turnaround is a promise or an average, and this page treats it that way.

📌 How we picked and disclosure: Criteria: a named offer, a stated turnaround on the vendor’s own page, a page that loaded (HTTP 200) on 25 Oct 2026. Data date: 25 Oct 2026. This guide is published by Increditors, a video editing agency, and includes our own services; Increditors and Video Editing Company are in the table with the figures their own pages state, marked in bold, and we do not publish Increditors prices here.

The full data table: 36 offers from 22 vendors

Sorted by segment, then by the stated upper bound, fastest first. Every row links to the exact page the sentence was read from, so any figure can be checked in one click.

Chart 1: median stated turnaround by segment

The first chart compares the five segments that are measured in days. Dedicated full-time editors and creative subscriptions sit at the fast end. Plain long-form editing subscriptions sit half a day behind the short-form offers, and the two podcast and micro-content offers are slower again because they are built around turning one long recording into a batch of clips.

Source: the data table above, vendor pages read 25 Oct 2026. Scale runs 0 to 7 days. Produced video and animation projects are left off the scale because their median is 43.5 days (about 6 weeks) and would flatten every other bar. Podcast and micro-content rests on 2 offers, so read it as an anecdote.

Chart 2: every editing offer on one scale

The second chart plots all 25 editing offers by their stated range. The spread inside a vendor is often larger than the spread between vendors: beCreatives alone ranges from 1 to 5 days depending on plan and video length, and Increditors’ own YouTube plans range from 2 to 7 days depending on tier.

Bars run from the low to the high end of the vendor’s own range; a single number is shown as a short bar ending at that day. Same-day and overnight claims sit at 1 day.

Seven horizontal range bars in brand colours showing short and long stated turnaround windows on a dark background

Four patterns in the data

1. The 1 to 2 day club is crowded, and mostly shared-editor capacity

14 of 25 editing offers state 2 days or less. Tasty Edits, VidChops, Edit Crew, VeedYou, Vidpros, Kimp, beCreatives, Motion Edits (shorts) and Shootsta each have at least one offer there. The common thread is a queue model: in most of these plans an editor or small pod works through one client’s requests at a time, so the stated time is short because the queue is short. Our guide to video editing subscriptions compares those plans on price as well.

2. Full-time editors state the fastest times

The three dedicated full-time offers (Edit Crew at 40 hours a week, VidChops at 40 hours a week and Video Husky’s St. Bernard tier) state a median of 1 day, and VidChops, Flocksy and Penji state same-day delivery on their top or larger plans. That is what you would expect: an editor who works only for you at 40 hours a week has no queue.

3. Long-form and B2B retainers state 3 to 7 days

6 of the 25 editing offers state 4 days or more at the top of their range: beCreatives for long-form up to 60 minutes (3 to 5 days), Motion Edits (3 to 7 days on its retainer, 2 to 4 days for long form in its FAQ), ContentBeta short-form video (4 to 5 days), Video Editing Company (3 to 7 days) and Increditors’ YouTube plans (2 to 7 days). Several of these bundle more than a clean cut, such as motion graphics, thumbnails, strategy or brand review, and the longer files simply take longer to review.

4. Produced video is measured in weeks, not days

Epipheo states 4 to 16 weeks across its tiers, Lemonlight 3 to 12 weeks, Wyzowl about 6 weeks, Testimonial Hero 45 days end to end and Increditors 14 days for 2D animation. The six project offers have a median upper bound of 43.5 days. The fastest, ContentBeta at 8 to 10 days, states that figure for animation requests inside its subscription and for a one-off product video.

💡 Reading tip: Compare a stated turnaround only with offers in the same segment. A 24-hour short-form edit and a 6-week explainer are not slower and faster versions of the same thing; they are different products.

Where Increditors and Video Editing Company sit

Increditors is a video editing agency that works with B2B teams through dedicated editors and a strategy layer. On our own pages we state 1 to 2 days for social media (reels) plans, 3 days for explainer reels, 2 to 7 days for YouTube plans depending on tier, and 14 days for 2D animation. We are not the fastest row in the table and we do not claim to be: our plans trade some speed for dedicated editors, a project manager and brand-level review. What backs the work is verifiable: a 5.0 rating from 12 reviews on our Clutch profile, 1,700+ videos delivered for 340+ clients, and named work for Emerj / The Trajectory, TuMeke, Riley Coleman, Trade with Pat, VYVE Wellness, Dr. Jonathan Tam, eSafetyFirst and Rhythm Monster, plus a GoDaddy pilot. More is on our case studies page.

Video Editing Company is our sister division and the premium B2B and SaaS retainer option. Its pricing page states a 3 to 7 day turnaround, a 5 business day priority turnaround on the Scale tier and a 30% surcharge for rush delivery, which puts it with the other retainer-style teams in pattern 3. For shared-editor speed, the vendors in patterns 1 and 2 are the benchmark; for a managed team that handles scripts, brand and a B2B content calendar, 3 to 7 days is the stated window. You can see how that compares with a rival plan in our beCreatives review.

Our reel: the kind of work the Clutch rating above refers to.

What this benchmark cannot tell you

It is a promise, not a result. Every number is the vendor’s own statement. None was timed against a delivered project, and a vendor with a longer stated window may deliver more reliably than one with a shorter one. We did not mystery-shop any vendor.

First draft versus final. Some statements are first-draft times (Video Husky, Edit Crew, Shootsta), some are average delivery (Wyzowl), and some do not say. Revision rounds are extra almost everywhere.

Business days versus calendar days. We counted the day figure as stated. A “2 business day” edit finished on a Friday arrives on Monday.

Small and uneven segments. Podcast and micro-content rests on 2 offers and creative subscriptions on 3, so their medians are anecdotes. The creative-subscription vendors (Flocksy, Penji, Videodeck) cover design as well as video, and their page does not always separate the two.

Selection. The dataset covers vendors with a published figure. Vendors that quote only on a sales call, such as the five listed in the method section, are invisible here, and enterprise vendors in particular tend to be.

How to use it in a brief or SLA

  1. Pick the segment first (short-form, long-form, full-time editor, project), then read only that part of the table.
  2. Take the vendor’s stated upper bound as the figure to plan around, not the lower bound. The upper bound is what the vendor is willing to publish.
  3. Add your own review time. A 2-day edit with a 3-day internal approval is a 5-day cycle.
  4. Ask in writing whether the figure is first draft or final, business days or calendar days, and what happens on a miss.
  5. Track the real number for the first 10 deliveries and compare it with the stated one. That is the measurement this benchmark cannot do for you.

If your plan needs a managed team rather than a queue, book a call and we will show what a corporate video editing engagement looks like from week one.

FAQ

What is a normal video editing turnaround in 2026?

Among the 25 editing offers in this benchmark, the median stated upper bound is 2 days, 14 of 25 promise 2 days or less and 19 of 25 promise 3 days or less. Dedicated full-time editors state about 1 day. These are vendor promises read on 25 Oct 2026, not measured delivery times.

Does a 24-hour turnaround mean I get the finished video in 24 hours?

Not necessarily. Most vendors state a first-draft time, then count revisions separately: Edit Crew lists 24-hour revisions and VidChops lists 1-business-day revisions next to their turnaround. Ask whether the number is first draft, final delivery or an average, and whether it counts business days or calendar days.

Why is long-form editing slower than short-form?

Length and complexity set the clock. beCreatives states up to 2 days for long-form under 10 minutes on its Scale plan, but up to 5 days for under 60 minutes on the same plan. Motion Edits states 24-48 hours for shorts and reels and 2-4 days for long form. More footage means more review time on your side too.

Why is this benchmark based on vendor-stated times?

Because that is the data that can be checked by anyone: each row links to the page it was read from. We did not mystery-shop vendors or use client project records, so the benchmark shows what buyers are promised, not what any vendor delivers on a bad week. Put the stated number in your contract and track the real one.

Why do produced videos and animations take weeks, not days?

They include scripting, storyboarding, filming or animation and several review rounds before the first cut is even editable. In this benchmark the six project offers state a median upper bound of 43.5 days (about 6 weeks), from 8 to 10 days at ContentBeta to 10 to 16 weeks for the top Epipheo tier.

How often is this benchmark updated?

We re-read every source quarterly and log what changed in the changelog at the bottom. The next full re-read is planned for January 2027. If a vendor changes a stated turnaround, the row, the medians and the charts are updated together.

📅 Last checked and changelog: Last checked October 2026. Changelog: 8 Nov 2026 – first published (36 offers from 22 vendors; stated turnaround read 25 Oct 2026).
