Motion Graphics Pricing 2026: Per Second, Minute & Project

Last checked: October 2026 · every price below was read on the vendor page on 24 Oct 2026

Short answer

Motion graphics costs about $33–$100 per second ($2,000–$6,000 per finished minute) from studios, $500–$3,000 per minute from freelancers, and $10,000–$35,000 per video at premium agencies. Subscriptions run from $995 to $15,000+ a month. Price follows complexity, not length. Read on vendor sites, 24 Oct 2026.

TL;DR

We pulled 38 dated price points from 18 vendors who publish motion graphics rates and converted them to per-second, per-minute and per-project figures. The middle of the market is $2,000 to $6,000 a minute; a 10-second logo sting can cost $300 to $1,000, and a full brand motion system $4,000 to $12,000 at a mid-market studio. Use the tables to sanity-check any quote.

This guide is for US and UK marketing leads and founders who need a motion graphics budget they can defend. It is deliberately about rates: price per second, per minute and per project. For the all-in price of an explainer package (script, voiceover, music), read our explainer video cost guide; for flat 2D character work, see 2D animation cost per minute. This page is the rate card behind both, built from what motion studios publish rather than what we would like them to charge.

Motion Graphics Pricing at a Glance

Three buyer types set three very different price points. The table compares them using the figures that vendors publish; where a vendor publishes a per-minute rate only, the per-second column is our own division by 60 and is marked as derived.

Provider type Per second Per finished minute Per project / month Source (read 24 Oct 2026)
Freelancer $15–$40 basic; $40–$90 mid-tier; $80–$150 advanced $500–$3,000 (Vidico); $900–$3,000 (Zelios) $1,000–$4,000 per simple project; $20–$200 per hour VEC guide, Vidico, Zelios, Magic Motion, BuzzFlick
Specialist studio $40–$150 published; about $33–$100 pooled (derived) $2,000–$6,000 pooled across 7 studio bands $2,000–$6,000 standard motion graphics; $4,000–$12,000 full brand motion system VEC guide, Broadcast2World, F. Learning, Yans
Full-service agency $150–$250 advanced tier $6,000–$15,000+ (Zelios); $10,000–$50,000+ per project (Vidico) $10,000–$35,000 per video (Epipheo); $3,500–$10,000+ explainer-level (Cueball) Zelios, Vidico, Epipheo, Cueball
Subscription n/a n/a $995 to $15,000+ a month Penji, Superside, VEC guide

💡 Pro Tip: Quote the same brief to three provider types before choosing. The spread between a freelancer and an agency for the same 60 seconds is routinely 5x or more, and the cheaper option is often the right one for social cut-downs and the wrong one for a launch film.

Motion Graphics Cost Per Second

Per-second pricing is the cleanest way to compare vendors, and few studios publish it. videoeditingcompany.com (a sister business of ours, disclosed below) publishes a three-tier rate card; Broadcast2World converts its per-minute bands to seconds. The two agree on the middle of the market.

Complexity tier Typical work Freelancer rate Studio / agency rate
Basic (tier 1) Lower-thirds, kinetic text, simple transitions $15–$40 per second $40–$80 per second
Mid-tier (tier 2) Explainer animation, product demo sequences, icon animation $40–$90 per second $80–$150 per second
Advanced (tier 3) Data visualization, 3D elements, character animation, complex UI mockups $80–$150 per second $150–$250 per second

Source: videoeditingcompany.com motion graphics pricing guide, read 24 Oct 2026. The guide says offshore studios typically run 40 to 65 percent lower at each tier.

A second source: Broadcast2World lists motion graphics at $2,000 to $5,000 per minute, which it converts to roughly $33 to $83 per second, against about $83 for entry-level 3D and $167 for mid-tier 3D (Broadcast2World, per-second table).

Our pooled per-second figure

To get a single planning number we took seven published per-finished-minute bands for studio-tier motion graphics (Yans Media, F. Learning Studio, Broadcast2World, Beverly Boy, Darvideo, Zelios and Vidico), took the median of the seven low ends ($2,000) and of the seven high ends ($6,000), and divided by 60. That gives about $33 to $100 per second. This is our derivation, not a vendor quote; the inputs are in the dataset linked under how we collected these prices.

⚠️ Watch out: Per-second pricing breaks down on very short clips. Yans Media calls it a misconception that a 10-second video costs a third of a 30-second one, and says up to 70 percent of the work is shared between a 15-second and a 30-second video. Expect a 5 to 15 second logo sting or social bumper to cost more per second than a 60-second piece.

Motion Graphics Cost Per Minute: The Sourced Price Table

Every row below is a figure the vendor itself publishes, with the page it came from. Ranges are kept as ranges. We did not average across vendors in the table, only in the pooled figure above.

BuzzFlick Freelance motion graphics hourly rate $20–$200 per hour read on site, 24 Oct 2026

Three ascending price tiers as geometric blocks above a ruler of seconds

Two patterns stand out. First, the bottom of the market is cheap because it is template-led: Breadnbeyond starts packages from $1,000 for a one-minute video (pricing page), and Advids puts kinetic typography at $1,500 to $2,500 a minute (Advids). Second, the top is priced by the project, not the minute: Epipheo states $10,000 to $35,000 and five to six weeks for a motion graphics video (Epipheo).

Price pages also disagree with each other, which is normal. Zelios cites $1,000 to $15,000 per finished minute as the 2026 range across guides, while Vidico’s own news page gives $1,000 to $15,000 for motion graphics and $1,000 to $5,000 for a basic 60-second video (Vidico). Treat any single number as an anchor, not a quote.

Motion Graphics Cost Per Project, by Type

Most motion work is bought as a fixed project, not per second. The VEC guide publishes a project table by video type and provider tier, shown here with other published low-end anchors.

Video type Length Freelancer Mid-market studio Premium agency
Animated lower-third pack 10–15 titles $200–$600 $500–$1,200 $1,200–$3,000
Kinetic typography reel 30–60 sec $300–$900 $800–$2,500 $2,500–$6,000
Animated explainer video 60–90 sec $800–$2,500 $3,000–$7,000 $7,000–$18,000
SaaS product demo animation 2–3 min $1,500–$4,000 $5,000–$12,000 $12,000–$30,000
Data visualization sequence 60–90 sec $1,200–$3,500 $4,000–$10,000 $10,000–$25,000
Full brand motion system Logo, transitions, overlays $1,000–$3,000 $4,000–$12,000 $12,000–$40,000

Source: videoeditingcompany.com, read 24 Oct 2026.

For single assets, Yans Media puts a logo or UI animation at $300 to $1,000, and Magic Motion Studio puts simple icon animation at $800 to $2,500 and a standard motion graphics piece at $2,000 to $6,000. Cueball Creatives says a simple 10 to 30 second animated social video runs $1,000 to $2,500 through an agency.

What Moves Motion Graphics Prices

Complexity and scene count

Flat 2D shapes and kinetic type are fast. Data visualization, 3D, character motion and complex UI mockups push a project into the advanced tier, which the VEC guide prices at $80 to $150 per second from freelancers and $150 to $250 from studios, roughly three times the basic tier.

Revisions and rush work

Most quotes include two to three revision rounds. VEC puts extra rounds at $150 to $400 for standard work and $500 to $1,200 for advanced animation, and says 24 to 48 hour rush turnarounds add 25 to 75 percent. Magic Motion Studio quotes additional rounds at $80 to $200 an hour.

Script, voiceover and music

Vidico says a studio-written script adds $500 to $1,500, professional voiceover runs $1,000 to $5,000 depending on usage rights, and custom music or sound design adds $500 to $2,000. Magic Motion Studio gives lower voiceover figures ($300 to $1,500) and $300 to $3,000 for music composition. Always check whether a quote includes them.

💡 Pro Tip: Lock the script and style references before animation starts. Almost every pricing guide above names late changes as the biggest source of overruns, and the fix is free: approve boards before motion begins.

Subscriptions and Retainers for Ongoing Motion Work

Once you need several assets a month, flat monthly plans beat project quotes. VEC estimates retainers lower the effective per-asset cost by 25 to 45 percent versus equivalent project quotes. Published plan prices:

Vendor Plan Price Unit Source
Yans Media Dedicated motion team $3,500–$8,500 per month read on site, 24 Oct 2026
videoeditingcompany.com Motion graphics retainers (guide) $2,500–$16,000+ per month read on site, 24 Oct 2026
Cueball Creatives Monthly subscription $2,500–$12,000+ per month read on site, 24 Oct 2026
Penji Essentials / Agency Partner (motion graphics included) / Dedicated Team $995 / $1,995 / $4,500 per month read on site, 24 Oct 2026
Superside Flex subscription (minimum) / Dedicated team $15,000 / $30,000 per month, annual term read on site, 24 Oct 2026
Animaker DIY animation software (yearly / monthly billing) $19 / $35 per month read on site, 24 Oct 2026
Vidpros Editing subscription (does not build custom motion graphics) $1,000 per month read on site, 24 Oct 2026

Two cautions. Vidpros is an editing subscription and says it does not create custom motion graphics, only template intros, end cards and lower thirds, so check the scope of any plan that looks cheap. And Superside adds a $1,000 monthly software fee to its $15,000 minimum, which puts it in enterprise territory; see our Vidico pricing breakdown and Moonb review for two motion-focused vendors in the middle of the range.

Freelancer, Studio or Agency: Which Fits Your Budget?

Freelancer Specialist studio Agency / managed team
Typical rate $500–$3,000 per minute; $20–$200 per hour $2,000–$6,000 per minute $6,000–$15,000+ per minute; $10,000–$35,000 per video
Turnaround Days to a few weeks, one person Epipheo: 5–6 weeks; Broadcast2World tiers: 2–3 to 8–12 weeks Penji: most projects in 1 business day, though motion graphics may take longer; Superside: not published
Capacity model Individual; you manage the work Project-based with a producer Project or monthly team with project manager
Best for Social cut-downs, lower thirds, one-off assets Explainers, product demos, brand videos Launch films, always-on video programs, multi-market rollouts

Where does Increditors fit? We are a video editing agency with a managed team, so motion work sits next to editing instead of in a separate vendor relationship. For the Fit! brand video the brief was a sub-50-second video showing 30+ programs in one scene, finished after two rounds of feedback; for TuMeke the team added 2D and 3D animation with motion graphics to training and YouTube videos. Our Clutch rating is 5.0 across 12 reviews (Clutch profile), with 1,700+ videos delivered for 340+ clients. We do not publish rates; we scope a pilot after a call. The second option we point teams to is videoeditingcompany.com, a premium B2B and SaaS editing retainer with a motion graphics guide of its own.

How We Collected These Prices

  • Method: on 24 Oct 2026 we fetched every source page live. We searched for studios and agencies that publish motion graphics rates, kept pages that state a number, and copied the number as published.
  • Sample: 38 price points from 18 vendors. Each row in the tables links to the page it came from; the full dataset is saved with a source URL per row.
  • Rules: ranges stay ranges; nothing is estimated; per-second figures are either published or marked as our derivation (per-minute divided by 60). Increditors prices are not published here.
  • Not used: Explainify and Vyond block scripted access; Superside, Design Pickle and Kimp show some plans only after JavaScript or a sales call. We did not guess their numbers.

📌 Disclosure: This guide is published by Increditors, a video editing agency, and includes our own services. videoeditingcompany.com is also an Increditors business and is one of the sources. Vendor prices change; check the linked page before you budget.

How to Budget and Compare Motion Graphics Quotes

Send every vendor the same one-page brief and compare the answers on five points:

  • Finished length and scene count. Cost tracks scenes, not minutes. Ask how many unique scenes the quote assumes.
  • Style tier. Flat 2D, 2.5D, 3D and data visualization are priced in different bands. Name your references.
  • Revision terms. How many rounds are included, and what an extra round costs.
  • What is excluded. Script, voiceover, music, captions and resizes (a 4:5 or 9:16 cut is often an extra).
  • Files and rights. Who owns project files, and what usage the voiceover and music licenses cover.

For ongoing work, price a month, not a clip. Our video editing pricing survey compares plan prices across video vendors, and the case studies show what a multi-asset program looks like. If you want a number for your own brief, book a call and we will scope it.

FAQ: Motion Graphics Pricing

How much does motion graphics cost per second?

Studios typically land around $33 to $100 per finished second, which is $2,000 to $6,000 per minute. videoeditingcompany.com publishes per-second tiers from $15 to $40 for a basic freelancer job up to $150 to $250 for advanced studio or agency work, and Broadcast2World lists motion graphics at about $33 to $83 per second. Very short clips cost more per second because script, storyboard and setup stay fixed.

How much does motion graphics cost per minute?

Published per-minute bands run from $500 to $3,000 for freelancers (Vidico), $2,000 to $6,000 for specialist studios (Zelios, F. Learning Studio, Broadcast2World) and $6,000 to $15,000+ for large agencies (Zelios). Yans Media quotes $4,000 to $8,500 for 2D and $5,000 to $9,500 for 3D.

How much does it cost to hire a motion graphics designer?

A freelancer costs roughly $20 to $200 per hour (BuzzFlick), or $1,000 to $4,000 per simple project (Magic Motion Studio). An agency benchmark is $100 to $149 per hour (Cueball Creatives). For steady work, subscriptions start at $995 a month at Penji and from $2,500 a month at motion-focused retainers.

Why is motion graphics pricing so different between studios?

Price follows complexity, scene count, revision rounds and who does the work, not running time. videoeditingcompany.com notes most quotes include 2 to 3 revision rounds and that extra rounds run $150 to $400 each on standard work. A 3D or data-visualization scene can cost several times a flat 2D scene of the same length.

Is a subscription cheaper than paying per project?

Usually once you need four or more assets a month. videoeditingcompany.com estimates retainers cut the per-asset cost by 25 to 45 percent versus project quotes. Penji starts at $995 a month, Superside at $15,000 a month, so match the plan to your volume.

What should a motion graphics quote include?

Ask for the finished length, number of scenes, style references, revision rounds, voiceover and music, delivery formats and who owns the source files. Compare quotes after the second revision round, not at the headline price, because revision terms and excluded scripting often explain a gap.

Verdict

Plan on roughly $33 to $100 per second, or $2,000 to $6,000 per finished minute, for a specialist studio. Go lower only for templates or short social assets, and go higher for 3D, data visualization and premium agency work. Before you sign, compare quotes after the second revision round and confirm what is excluded.
